About

At Next Chapter Health & Wellness, we believe recovery is more than treatment — it’s a new beginning.
Led by board-certified nurse practitioners Kristi Burdick and Zach Couture, our team blends medical expertise with genuine compassion to guide patients through every stage of recovery. We provide evidence-based care, individualized treatment plans, and a safe, judgment-free space where healing can truly begin. Whether you’re seeking help for the first time or continuing your recovery journey, we’re here to help you write your next chapter — healthier, stronger, and filled with hope.

Kristi Burdick, DNP, FNP-BC, APNP
I’m a board-certified nurse practitioner with over 25 years of nursing experience — and a deep passion for helping people break free from addiction and reclaim their lives. From inpatient withdrawal management at LE Phillips Treatment Center to addiction medicine at Prevea Health, I’ve dedicated my career to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that puts the patient first. As a Mental Health First Aid instructor and member of the WI Voices for Recovery Advisory Committee, I’m committed to advancing mental health and addiction treatment in our community. Outside of the clinic, you’ll find me running, cooking, enjoying time with my family, friends, and pets.

Zach Couture, DNP, FNP-BC, APNP
I’m a board-certified nurse practitioner devoted to guiding people through recovery with care that’s personal, practical, and free of judgment. I believe recovery is never one-size-fits-all — that’s why I create individualized treatment plans that work for each person’s unique goals. Whether it’s medication-assisted treatment (MAT) with buprenorphine or naltrexone, or tailored strategies for managing cravings, withdrawal, and co-occurring conditions, my goal is to make recovery not just possible, but sustainable. I’m constantly inspired by the resilience of my patients and proud to walk beside them as they build healthier, stronger futures.
